Step 4 – RF Service Configuration

Define the RF parameters by choosing the Service1/Service2 tab in
the work area:

DL central frequencies for each service according to the
following ranges.

EGSM: 925 - 960

UMTS: 2110 - 2170

PCS: 1930 - 1990

CELL: 869 - 894

DCS: 1805 - 1880

Max expected power of BTS (0-33dBm)

UL Gain for each service (5 to -15dB)

Step 5 – (Optional) Auxiliary Alarms and Alarm Output Connections

Connect the Auxiliary Alarms and Alarm Output connections on the
Master VCU rear panel Alarm port according to the instructions given
 in the

VE Dual-Band Installation and Configuration Guide

Step 6 – Connect the Slave VCUs to the Master VCU

a)

Install each Slave VCU in the IDF/Telco closets corresponding to the floors to be covered.

Note: VAPs for each VCU can be located over more than one (adjacent) floor.

b)

Connect the VCU/VCH port to the patch-panel that feeds the dedicated CAT-6 cabling system for connection
to the Master VCU (one of the VAP ports).

Note: Verify that the VCU/VCH LED completes initialization (blinking light) and shows a solid green light. The RF
LEDs (of both services) should turn OFF.
