1.3 Intended Use
The DTS 4160.grandmaster is a primary reference clock (PRC), Grandmaster and
Timeserver for the high accurate synchronization of various equipment’s and for the
use in large network environments.
It receives time information from GPS. An intelligent time management ensures lasting
high accuracy by continuously compensating oscillator drift and aging.
With 4 network ports, it can operate as NTP server and with 3 ports as PTP
grandmaster in different networks.
The DTS 4160 provides 1 output lines for E1 / 2.048MHz, 1 IRIG/AFNOR line
(available as analog and digital output), 1 configurable frequency output as well as 2
serial interfaces for the output of time telegrams.
To maintain a redundant time source, two DTS 4160 can be linked together over an
optical link.

The device is designed for 19" racks and intended to be installed in a 19" cabinet.
Operate the device only in installed condition and with all connectors plugged in.
