TPMS SYMPTOM CHART
M1311003100111
CAUTION
During diagnosis, a DTC associated with another system may be set when the ignition switch (engine
starting switch) is turned to the ON position with connector(s) disconnected. when diagnosis is fin-
ished, check all systems for DTC. If DTC(s) are set, erase them all.
TPMS SYMPTOM PROCEDURES
Inspection Procedure 1: The TPMS warning light stays ON.
CAUTION
If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines,
an incorrect DTC may be set. Prior to this
diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines (Refer
to GROUP 54C
CAN Bus Diagnostics Table
P.54C-12
).
Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the
CAN bus lines are normal.
.
OPERATION
The TPMS warning light will illuminate when the
tire inflation pressure of road wheel is below 189
kPa (27.4 psi) or a certain threshold value.
Furthermore, the TPMS warning light illuminates
for three seconds immediately after the ignition
switch (engine starting switch) is turned to the
"ON" position. This is a bulb check of the TPMS
warning light.
.
COMMENT ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
This may be caused by faults in the CAN bus line,
combination meter or ETACS-ECU <vehicles without
Keyless Operation System> or KOS&OSS-ECU
<vehicles with Keyless Operation System>.
.
PROBABLE CAUSES
Damaged wiring harness and connectors
Low tire inflation pressure
Punctured tire
Damaged tire valve and/or valve core
Inaccurate tire pressure sensor of the TPMS
transmitter
Malfunction of the combination meter
Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU <vehicles without
Keyless Operation System> or KOS&OSS-ECU
<vehicles with Keyless Operation System>
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Inspect the all tires.
Visually check road tires for any sign of air leak or puncture.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES :
Go to Step 2.
NO :
Replace the valve or valve core, or repair the flat tire.
Replace the tire if necessary. Then go to Step 2.
