2.5-liter diesel engine 4D56 (5AT and 5MT)

2.4-liter gasoline engine 4G64 (5MT)

New diesel turbo engine with no intercooler

New 5AT

The diesel engine is the result of pursuing high output and flat torque for easy driving. A non-intercooled model with
excellent torque characteristics at low revs is newly added to the lineup. Both the AT and MT version now generate
400N-m of torque (the AT version previously produced 350N-m).

Improvements to the electronic control system provide
smoother acceleration. The gasoline engine with an
electronically controlled throttle enables the driver to enjoy
driving with less shock from acceleration. Brake override
control is also newly supported. If the accelerator does not
recover, pressing the brake pedal will reduce the throttle
opening. This function improves safety.

A new 5AT is designed to achieve high torque and optimum shift
patterns for improved fuel consumption and greater silence.
Maintenance intervals have been extended to up to 100,000 km
and replacement of AT fluid is virtually no longer required.
