2. Run DB Test on the saved database and verify that no problems exist with the database structure.
3. Use the DB Conversion tool to convert the database to the correct version and system type.
4. Run DB Test on the converted database and verify that the database is intact.
5. Configure the system to point to the correct TFTP server and path and perform an UpgradeAll
to upgrade the system software.
6. Install a Processor Expansion Card (PEC-1), part number 580.2020. For an HX Controller
platform, see “Adding a Processor Expansion Card (PEC-1)” on page 1-181 . For a CS Controller
platform, see “Adding a Processor Expansion Card (PEC-1)” on page 1-186 .
7. Load the software license for the version installed.
8. Restore the full database and voice processor data to the system.
9. Verify results.
10. Perform a full save of database and voice processor data after the expansion is complete.
Expanding by Adding a PS-1
Before performing the following expansion process and procedures, read “Network Environment
Requirements” on page 1-307 and “Guidelines for Expanding or Upgrading a System” on
page 1-307 .
This section describes the parts and materials and the process and applicable procedures required
to add a Processing Server (PS-1) to an existing system.
Parts and Materials
Adding a PS-1 to an existing system requires the following items:
• Processing Server unit, part number 580.5600.
• Applicable licensing.
• Personal computer (PC) with Ethernet/Internet connectivity to the Mitel 5000.
• One of the following input-output setups:
• A monitor, keyboard, and mouse,
or
• A laptop PC, straight-through RS-232 cable terminated with DB-9 connectors, part number
813.1683, and a null modem with hardware flow control, part number 804.2605. The Uni -
versal RS-232 Kit, part number 828.1282. For connection details, see Figure 15 on
page 211
.
• Flash drive(s) for backing up the voice mail database, prompts, and received messages. For a
current list of compatible USB flash drives, refer to Knowledge Base article 2468 on the Mitel
Knowledge Base Center (accessible through Mitel Online).
• Hard drive or other data storage device for backing up the system database so it can be restored
after expanding the system.
NOTICE
Possible Data Corruption . Do
not
unplug the chassis when the system is in the process of
upgrading because the Norflash package is migrating at this time.
