Unified Voice Messaging (UVM)
This section describes the measurable parameters of the Unified Voice Messaging feature, including
voice mail storage limits, ports available for licensing on the Communication Servers, voice mail
recording process, and authentication supported.
With v5.0, the system supports 24 or 32 licensed UVM ports, as shown in
below.
The ports are allocated dynamically up to the number of valid UVM licenses. Ports are licensed four
at a time and may
not
be licensed individually. If the system is equipped with a PS-1vPS-1, UVM is
hosted on the PS-1/vPS-1.
shows the relationship between the number of valid UVM licenses and the maximum
number of active UVM ports in a system. DBP does
not
allow dynamic allocation of more UVM ports
than are licensed for the system and that have been manually programmed into the appropriate
Time Slot Group.
If all of the IP resources available for UVM are in use, the next caller is camped-on to wait for a
resource to become available. For additional information, refer to the Voice Processing chapter in
the
MiVoice Office 250 Features and Programming Guide
.
UVM Voice Mail Ports
Having up to 32 UVM ports available on the system provides increased availability and response
time for voice processor applications. Under normal business conditions, increased ports allow fast
response to applications such as voice mail, Message Notification/Retrieval, Automated Attendant,
and Record-A-Call. Programmers can reserve up to the maximum ports supported by the license
installed. For programming instructions, refer to the
MiVoice Office 250 Features and Programming
Guide
.
The system supports up to 32 UVM ports on the PS-1. When the PS-1 is installed, the eight-port
UVM feature is disabled. The PS-1 initially provides four UVM ports and additional ports can be
