Using the peeling to set the media
Set up the media to the take-up unit

Push the (MEDIA) key and set up the
media to the feeding unit.
• Details, please refer to follows.
P.2-7 “Using the tension bar to set the roll
media” or P.2-13 “Setting roll media without
using tension bar”

Turn ON the peeling function.
• If the setting of the machine for the “TAKE-UP
UNIT” is “OFF”, this setting is not indicated.
• Press [

][

] keys to select “ON” and press the
[ENTER] key.

Fix the media in place in the take-up
device.
• Details, please refer to the step 12~17 in P.2-7
“Using the tension bar to set the roll media”.

Replacing the direct-connection unit
When take up the media without using the peeling
function, it is necessary to replace with the torque limiter
instead of the direct-connection unit.

Remove the direct-connection unit.
• Remove the thumbscrew, and then remove the
direct-connection unit.

Attach the Torque limiter.
(1) Insert so that the projection of the Torque
limiter match the groove of the feeding/ take-
up device.
(2) As shown in the illustration, attach it so that the tip
of the shaft of the feeding/ take-up device
matches the surface of the Torque limiter.
• In case of using the take-up unit with the peeling
function, please confirm that the take-up device
has the direct-connection unit.
If there is the torque limiter, refer to the following
for replacing with the direct-connection unit.

• If shut out the peeling sensor during a work of
setting the media, it may happen that an error is
displayed or the take-up device start working.
• The feeding error may be caused by using a
media sticking to the rubber tape well. In that case,
use with the rubber tape removed.
• If media sticking is strong, or when the paper core
on the take-up side deflects due to the weight of
the media, there is a possibility that winding by the
torque limiter may not be possible. Therefore, it is
recommended to wind up by the motor directly
connected unit using the peeling function.
• When using the take-up unit instead of the peeling
function, replace the direct-connection unit
attached on the take-up device with the torque
limiter.
• The feeding error may be caused by using a
media sticking to the rubber tape well. In that case,
use with the rubber tape removed.

• As shown in the figure, attach it so that the tip of
the shaft of the take-up device matches the
surface of the torque limiter. If the tip of the shaft
and the surface of the torque limiter does not
match, the take-up of the media will not run well.
