Switching on and off

Switching off the refrigerator section/
PerfectFresh zone separately
The refrigerator section/PerfectFresh
zone can be switched off without hav-
ing to switch off the freezer section. The
freezer section cannot be turned off
separately.
Tip:
We recommend using the Holiday
mode function if you are away on holi-
day (see “Using Holiday mode”), so that
the appliance operates at lower power
rather than being switched off com-
pletely.
If the Super cool
function has been
previously selected, it will be switched
off automatically.
Touch the left-hand
On/Off control
until the temperature display for the
refrigerator section goes off.
If this is does not happen, the safety
lock is still activated (see "Selecting fur-
ther settings - Activating and deactivat-
ing the safety lock).
The refrigerator section is switched off.
The temperature in the freezer section
will still be shown in the display. The re-
frigerator section interior lighting will go
out.
Switching the refrigerator section/
PerfectFresh zone on separately (if
previously switched off)
Touch the left-hand On/Off control
to switch on the refrigerator section.
The refrigerator section/PerfectFresh
zone will be switched on and will start
to cool down. It will reach the set tem-
perature. The interior lighting will come
on when the refrigerator section door is
opened.
Switching off for longer peri-
ods of time
If, during a long absence, the refri-
geration appliance is switched off
but not cleaned and the door(s) left
shut, there is a risk of mould forming
inside the appliance.
It is essential to clean the refrigera-
tion appliance.
If the refrigeration appliance is not go-
ing to be used for a longer period of
time, observe the following:
Switch the refrigeration appliance off.
Switch off at the wall and remove the
plug from the socket, or disconnect
the mains fuse.
Clean the refrigeration appliance and
leave the door ajar to air the appli-
ance and avoid odours building up in-
side.
It is also advisable to carry out the last
two instructions if you are switching
the refrigerator section off for a longer
period of time.
