Jalapeño Cheese Bread

Yields: 2 Loaves

-

Ingredients

5 cups All-purpose Flour, unbleached

9 oz Cheddar, grated

4 oz Jalapeños, small dice

2 t Sugar

0.2 oz Instant Yeast

2 cups Water, hot

2 T Olive Oil

2 T Salt

3 T Garlic Powder (or to taste)

Extra Grated Cheddar to cover loaf

Method

In a measuring cup add the water,

yeast and half of the sugar. Mix

together until incorporated. Let rest for

10 minutes or until foamy.
Add the olive oil to the water and yeast.
In the bowl of a stand up mixer add all

of the dry ingredients except for the

garlic. Make sure the cheddar and

jalapeños are well covered with flour.
With a dough hook attachment, slowly

add in the wet ingredients to the dry.
Mix about 5 minutes or until well

incorporated. In the last minute add in

the garlic powder.
Place the dough into a well-greased

bowl and cover. Proof for about 1 hour.
Then shape into loaves, place into a

well-greased tea loaf pan and cover.

Proof for another 1 hour.
Grate extra cheddar to cover the top of

the loaves as desired.

Place the loaves in the oven and select

the MasterChef Plus program for

Jalapeño Cheese Bread

.

Follow the directions in the display.
