Before the ironing cloth can be removed, the laundry pickers on the roller need to be
fully retracted one after the other.
Switch on the flatwork ironer by pressing the
button.
Press and hold the
button for longer than 3 seconds.
The heater plate disengages and is locked into this position.
Repeatedly press the
-
button to reverse the roller incrementally (jog mode).
Take the end of the ironing cloth and put it on the laundry infeed table.
With the roller in reverse, completely remove the ironing cloth.
After this, press and hold the
button for longer than 3 seconds to deactivate the main-
tenance position.
Wire wool residues may fall onto the laundry infeed table while the ironing cloth is being fit-
ted or removed. These residues must be removed.
Fitting the ironing cloth (only for steel-wool roller covering)
Switch on the flatwork ironer by pressing the
button.
Select the lowest temperature (
) and the lowest roller speed (
).
From the outfeed table, lay the ironing cloth on the roller parallel to the roller axis.
Start the ironer by pressing the
button.
The covering diameter of the roller will indicate when the roller paddling requires atten-
tion.
The steel wool padding on the roller may only be topped up or replaced by the Miele
Customer Service Department or trained specialist personnel.
When the roller padding is being topped up or replaced, the paddling should always be
fitted to the maximum diameter (including ironing cloth).

Within this range the roller should be wound cylindrically over its entire length.
When the roller padding is replaced, the Miele Customer Service Department should
check whether the carbon brushes of the drive motor need to be replaced as well.
Padding instructions for rollers with steel-wool padding
The steel-wool padding of the roller is covered by a polyester or ARAMID needle felt. Dur-
ing the ironing process, rollers covered in this material press the laundry onto the heater
plate. The pressure applied and the heat causes the laundry to straighten and become dry.
The advantage of steel-wool padding is that it is slightly springy and can therefore adapt
to various material thicknesses. In addition, it is permeable to both moisture and heat.
Over time, the steel-wool padding is pressed together closer and closer, causing the laun-
dry finish and ironing performance to deteriorate. For this reason, the steel-wool padding
must be replaced on a regular basis.
