Power Connection
Connect the base unit only to a suitable 220-240V ~50Hz power
supply only. This appliance is designed to operate safely across
both New Zealand and Australian power supplies. This
appliance must be earthed.
First Time Use
When first used fill the kettle with fresh water and boil as
described. Discard this water to ensure that any impurities have
been removed before use.
Basic Operation
Fill the kettle to the desired water level and place securely onto
the base. WARNING! Do not under fill.
Connect the cordless base to the power supply.
Switch the kettle on and the power on indicator will light.
The appliance will boil the water and switch off automatically.
Note. The appliance may be switched off manually at any time.
Note. When the kettle has boiled do not attempt to immediately
switch the kettle back on, allow a small amount of time for the
appliance to cool down.
WARNING! The lid must be securely closed or the automatic
switch will not operate and the appliance will continue to boil
causing a danger of dry boiling or damaging the appliance.
WARNING! To avoid electrocution, personal injury, damage to
the appliance or scalding from ejected water, do not overfill or
under fill, do not fill the kettle when it is connected to the base or
when it is in operation.
WARNING! Always use care when moving any appliance
containing hot water. Do not open the lid when the kettle is
boiling.
CAUTION! Do not move while the kettle is switched on.
WARNING! Only use with the base provided.
WARNING! Ensure the kettle is switched OFF before removing
from the base.
CAUTION! Do not operate the kettle on an inclined plane. Do
not operate the kettle unless the element is fully immersed and
the MINIMUM water level is reached. The element must be
covered with water at all times.
Cleaning
Always disconnect the appliance and the base from the power
supply when cleaning.
Do not use harsh abrasives, solvents or scouring material as
they may damage the plastics. Warning! Do not immerse this
appliance or supply base in any liquid.
Caution: To prevent damage to the appliance do not use
alkaline cleaning agents when cleaning, use a soft cloth and a
mild detergent.
Clean the outer case with a damp clean cloth, dry with a dry
towel. Do not use detergent internally, use only clean water or
follow the below de scaling suggestion..
Remove the filter and rinse under hot water to remove any
residue.
WARNING! The filter must be returned to the kettle and
fitted correctly before use after cleaning. Failure to do this
may result in the kettle not functioning correctly. The
switch may not turn the kettle off automatically due to too
much steam being expelled through the spout.
De-Scaling
In order to retain the kettle performance it is advised to
periodically remove calcium deposits that build up from the
water inside the kettle.
Half fill kettle with clean water.
Add 30ml of white vinegar and boil. Allow to stand for 1 minute.
Repeat 2-3 times depending on your local water supply.
Drain this water and rinse the inside with clean water.
Fill with clean water and boil as normal and discard.
