Downstream piping
It is necessary to have straight piping downstream of the
valve because sprayed water needs some distance to evap-
orate and for example bends will separate water from
steam and hence prevent optimum evaporation.
Metso´s
guideline for straight downstream piping is about10
times the nominal diameter and a minimum of 2-5 m.
In downstream piping it is also necessary to keep water
away from piping (see drains).
Metso´s
guide value for a slope with the flow is minimum
1:200.
A drain should be provided a the lowest point.
