Storage of foodstuffs
In order to achieve the best results with your appliance, please observe the
following rules:
•
Only place foodstuffs in the cooling/freezing compartment after it has
reached the set operation temperature.
•
Do not place uncovered hot foodstuffs or liquids inside the cooling/
freezing compartment.
•
Package or cover foodstuffs, if possible.
•
Do not limit the air circulation inside the cooling/freezing compartment
by overfilling it.
•
Avoid opening the doors frequently or for a prolonged period of time.
•
Wait a few moments before reopening the doors after they have just
been closed.
4. Cleaning and care
Cleaning
•
Switch off and unplug the appliance before cleaning or
maintenance.
•
Do not clean the appliance with steel wool, strong
chemicals, alkali, abrasive or toxic agents, as they may
damage the surface of the appliance and pose a health
hazard.
•
During cleaning, do not approach sharp elements
(evaporator, condenser, etc.) that could cause cutting
injuries bare-handed. Always use protective gloves.
•
Use little or no water during cleaning.
•
The interior of the appliance should be cleaned at least
once a month.
To clean the interior, start a defrost process (
). After the process
is finished, switch off the appliance and clean it with an antibacterial
cleaning agent and a soft cloth. Wipe with a soft dry cloth.
•
Clean the shelves with a soft damp cloth. Wipe with a soft dry cloth.
•
The appliance may only be used again or stored after it is dried
•
completely.
Defrosting
•
The defrost on models GRE is automatic.
•
The defrost on models GFR is manual. Please switch off the unit for
it.
•
The appliance will defrost itself automatically every 5 hours
(GRE4600, GRE4600S).
•
When the defrosting is finished, the appliance will enter into dripping
phase.
•
After the complete defrost process is finished, the defrost timer will
reset and start counting to 5 hours again.
Notes:
•
During the defrost process, the appliance will slightly lower the
temperature inside the cooling/freezing compartment, so that the
developed ice can melt. This process is not harmful to the products
stored in the appliance and will generally only take a few minutes. In
cases of severe frost, the process may take a maximum of 30
minutes.
•
The disposal of defrost water is automatic. The water will drip down
from the defrost water outlet into the water collection container at the
back of the appliance and evaporate there.
•
By starting a manual defrosting process, the frequency of defrosting
will not change, only the starting time of the 24-hour defrost cycle.
The time between each following automatic defrost process will
always be 5 hours.
5. Storage
•
During periods of inactivity or before storing, remove all foodstuffs
from the appliance, disconnect it from the supply and clean the
appliance and its accessories thoroughly (
Cleaning and care).
•
Store the appliance in a dry, protected environment, preferably at
room temperature. The temperature should be between -25°C and
+55°C and the ambient humidity between 30% and 95%.
•
To protect the appliance from dust, cover it with a cloth that allows
air circulation inside the appliance. You can also store the appliance
in its original packaging.
•
Keep the appliance out of reach of children.
6.
