While holding the lancet carrier, insert a new sterile lancet and
push it down firmly until it is fully secured.

Twist the cap of the lancet off.

Unscrew the cap of the lancing device by turning it
counter-clockwise while holding the base firmly.

Put the cap of the lancing device back on and turn it clockwise
until it snaps in audibly.
Setting up the lancing device
To reduce the infection risk:
• Never share the lancet or the lancing device.
• Always use a new, sterile lancet. Lancets are for single use only.
• Avoid getting hand lotion, oils, dirt or debris in or on the lancets and the lancing device.
• The used lancet may potentially be biohazardous. Discard it accordingly to your local regulations.
• Do not use in case of a damaged or missing protective cap.
• Do not keep the lancet in the lancing device.
• Do not use the lancets after expiration date. Sterility will maintain for 5 years. Do not sterilize again. Gluceofine® Pro lancets are
only intended for use with the Gluceofine® or Gluceofine® Pro lancing device.
Important notes:
The lancing device allows to set 6 different penetration depths.
The larger the bar on the skale, the larger the penetration depth.

Instruction manual for lancing device and sterile lancet
Intended use:
The Gluceofine® Pro lancing device allows to collect capillary blood samples with sterile lancets for glucose monitoring or for other
tests from the finger tip or alternate sites easily and almost painless.

Puncture
Press the lancing device firmly against your finger tip and press
the release button.

Remove the device from the puncture site. After penetration,
remove the first drop of blood with a clean cotton swab. Gently
squeeze the punctured area to obtain another drop of blood. Be
careful NOT to smear the blood sample.

Slide the ejector forward to remove the used lancet. Dispose
of the lancet according to your local regulations.

Please use the transparent cap for AST.

Remove the lancet by twisting the cap off and safely dispose
of the used lancet by pushing the exposed tip into the desk.
Before collecting the blood sample:
• Wash your hands dry completely before testing.
• Choose the puncture side.
• For a well blood circulation, please massage the skin on the puncture side for about 20 seconds to encourage blood flow.
Caution:
Do not hold the lancing device
on the cap.

Turn the tip until the mark (white drop) points to the requested
penetration depth. You can adjust 6 penetration depths.

Hold the tip firmly in one hand then pull out the cocking
control with the other hand until „click“-sound resonates. The
release button turns red as soon as the lancing device is cocked.

Should there be no "click"-sound, you may have cocked
the lancing device with inserting the lancet.

Cleaning
The lancet is disposable and intended for single use
only.
To clean the lancing device, use a mild soap and
water to wipe clean the lancing device. Do not rinse
the device under water. Desinfect the cap by placing
it in 70 % alcohol for 10 minutes and then allow it to
air dry.
Do not place the device in a dishwasher or use
detergents.

Testing on sites other than the ngertip is referred to as Alternative
site testing (AST). Please read the Alternative Site Testing (AST)
section in your operation manual before you perform AST.
Substitute the lancing device cap with the clear cap for alternative
site testing. Pull the cocking control back until it clicks.
When lancing the forearm, upper arm, hand, thigh, or calf, avoid
lancing the areas with obvious veins in order to prevent excess
bleeding.
