ECP and EPP modes are only supported with EPP- and ECP-aware peripherals.

EPP Mode Select (EPP 1.7)

The onboard parallel port is EPP spec. compliant, after you choose the on-
board parallel port with EPP function. Set the EPP version to 1.7 spec or 1.9
spec.

ECP Mode Use DMA (3)

When the onboard parallel port is set to ECP mode, the parallel port can use
DMA 3 or DMA 1.
