4. Add the specified fluid to bring the fluid level up to the proper level.

5. Install the fill cap/dipstick.
Changing
Power‑assisted steering fluid does not require changing unless it becomes contaminated. See your Mercury Diesel authorized
repair facility.
Engine Coolant
!
CAUTION
A sudden loss of pressure can cause hot coolant to boil and discharge violently resulting in serious injury from burns. Allow
the engine to cool down before removing the coolant pressure cap.
Checking
IMPORTANT: Check the engine coolant before starting the engine.
1. Allow the engine to cool.
2. Remove the pressure cap from the coolant expansion tank.
3. The coolant level must be above the "min" mark and below the maximum mark on the coolant expansion tank.

IMPORTANT: The coolant level is monitored by a sensor. If the coolant level is low, a fault will be indicated on the
tachometer display and a warning tone will be activated.
