Driving systems

Operating displays: distance cruise control

Danger.

Pay even closer attention to the traffic
situation if a distance warning is issued
while the bus is in motion. Brake the bus
using the service brake if necessary.

Danger.

No automatic control of distance (auto-
matic braking) takes place, i.e. it is ne-
cessary to decelerate the bus manually
using the service brake. The system can-
not always interpret complex driving situ-
ations unequivocally. This may result in
false warnings or no warnings at all.

Note:

The pop-up window is displayed for a min-
imum of 10 seconds and until the hazard-
ous situation is over.

Distance cruise control (ART) brake

This warning appears on the display
screen in conjunction with a yellow
warning level malfunction if distance
cruise control detects that the maximum
rate of deceleration provided by the
system would not be sufficient to
prevent a collision at the current driving
speed. A double warning tone also
sounds.
