Cellular Telephone Operation

The following functions are only available in conjunction with the installation
of a special Mercedes-Benz cellular telephone: Incoming and outgoing calls
interrupt the radio operating modes and allow the conversation to be heard
using the sound system’s speakers. Even if the radio was not switched on prior
to receiving or placing a phone call, the telephone signal “wakes” the radio
and switches it on. “PHONE” appears on the display while using the cellular
telephone.

Special Features of “Premium” Model Radio

Scan Function in Radio, CC and CD Modes

Press

button. Scan provides an additional convenience for radio, CC

and CD operation: stations/tracks are found in ascending order and played for
approx. 10 seconds before automatically proceeding to the next station/track
available and playing it for the same period, etc. For radio operation, the unit
initially scans only for stations with “high signal strength”. A second scan will
select any and all stations which can be received.

To cancel the scan function, press the SC button again. The unit will then
resume continuous play of the station/track just found.
