Resolving errors
Your Mercedes-Benz Wallbox is engineered for maximum operational safety and the highest possible charging reliability.
Should a malfunction occur in practice, this is shown by the indicator LEDs front of the wallbox as an error code. The following
chapter describes how you recognize error codes and which measures you must take to resolve them.
Error messages during the charging procedure
In some circumstances, malfunctions and disruptions of the charging procedure may occur that prevent the proper charging
of the vehicle according to IEC 61851.1. The Mercedes-Benz Wallbox independently detects possible internal errors as well as
errors on the part of the vehicle and shows them using the indicator LEDs.
To represent certain errors, the indicator LEDs will illuminate and flash in a specific, repeating pattern. The following error
states are displayed:
LED display
Error description
When the red LED
is ON and the blue LED
and/or the green LED
are
flashing, the wallbox has detected an error. To resolve the error, terminate the cur-
rent charging procedure and reinitiate it to reset the error.
If the error repeats or occurs permanently, take the wallbox out of operation (see
page 9) and contact your local Mercedes-Benz technical support.
When the red LED
flashes (every 10 seconds) and the green LED
also
flashes (every 2 seconds), the wallbox is only providing reduced charging capacity.
If the error repeats or occurs permanently, take the wallbox out of operation (see
page 9) and contact your local Mercedes-Benz technical support.
PLEASE NOTE!
You can find a comprehensive list of all error messages in the installation manual for your wallbox.
For most error states, the wallbox reinitiates the charging procedure, checking communications with the Mercedes-Benz ve-
hicle. However, in practice, it is, in case of an error, advisable to manually reinitiate the charging procedure by unplugging and
reconnecting the cable as not all errors can be resolved by the automatic restart.
CAUTION!
If the wallbox continues to show error messages during charging, please always contact your local Mercedes-Benz techni-
cal support. It is possible that your vehicle must be repaired or the wallbox or the charging cable needs to be replaced
before the vehicle can be charged again using the wallbox.
Disruptions to the operation of the wallbox and
solutions
For secure operation, the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox must be protected during operation by (an) upstream fuse(s) and an ex-
ternal residual current circuit breaker. To take suitable measures and restore operation in case of malfunction, you must first
clearly identify the type of error.
