FAN OPERATION

Rev 2.0
A ceiling fan is an environmentally smart choice when it comes to cooling as well as helping to warm
your room. You should see a reduction in both cooling and heating costs by regular use of your fans.
SWITCHING SUMMER/WINTER SETTING
Make sure fan is off and blades have stopped spinning before changing the summer/winter
switch.
•
Summer setting (marked FORWARD or S)
– Fan turns in counter clockwise
direction. A downward airflow creates a
cooling effect. This also allows you to set
your air conditioner on a higher
temperature setting without affecting
your comfort.
•
Winter setting (marked REVERSE or W) –
Fan turns in clockwise direction. An
upward airflow creates moves warm air
off the ceiling area. This also allows you to
set your heating unit on a lower setting
without affecting your comfort.
