• The slices of bread should be no more
than 1 cm thick.
• Put the filling (e.g. cheese) in the middle
of the slices to minimise leakage.
• Sandwiches containing fruit will be
"crispier" by spreading a little sugar
round the edges before grilling.
• If the lid will not close easily take out
some of the filling or use thinner slices,
otherwise the grill can be damaged.
MAINTENANCE
CLEANING
Always clean the sandwich grill after using it.
1. Pull out the plug and allow the sandwich
grill to cool before cleaning.
2. Wipe off any residual grease from the
hotplates with kitchen paper and then
clean with a damp cloth moistened with
washing-up liquid.
3. Wipe with a cloth moistened with clean
water and then dry with kitchen paper.
4. Encrusted scraps can be softened by
pouring a little cooking oil on the hotplate
and allowing it to act for five minutes.
Wipe off the scraps afterwards.
5. Wipe the outside of the sandwich grill
with a soft, damp cloth. Make sure not
to get moisture or oil in the ventilation
openings.
6. Allow all of the sandwich grill to dry before
using again.
NOTE:
Do not use strong or abrasive detergent and
never immerse the sandwich grill in water or
any other liquid.
USE
1. Clean the sandwich grill and place it on a
level, stable and heat resistant surface.
2. Close the lid and plug in the plug. The red
voltage status light goes on.
3. Prepare the sandwiches while the
sandwich grill is warming up.
4. When the hotplates have reached the
working temperature (after about three
minutes) the green temperature status
light goes on.
5. Open the lid and put the sandwiches in
the grill. Avoid touching the hotplates.
Check that the edges of the sandwiches
cover the edges of the hotplates. Close
the lid slowly by pressing down the handle
until the catch clicks in place. The green
temperature status light goes off.
6. After a short while the green temperature
status light goes on again to show
that the cooking is finished. Open the
sandwich grill to see if the bread is toasted
enough. You can stop the grilling any time
by pulling out the plug. The cooking time
depends on the type of bread, filling, and
personal taste.
7. If the bread is toasted enough, lift out the
sandwiches with a suitable utensil made
of wood or heat-resistant plastic.
8. To continue toasting, close the lid again
and then recheck.
9. Pull out the plug after use.
WARNING!
• Do not use metal utensils or utensils
with sharp points or edges – they can
damage the nonstick coating on the
hotplates.
• Before using the sandwich grill for the
first time wipe the inside with a damp
cloth and spread or brush a little butter
or oil on the hotplates. Follow the
instructions above.
