Step 2: Location Identification
2.1
Identify a suitable installation location for the indoor unit. Key attributes:
Minimal airflow interference
Minimal impact from nearby
equipment
Out of reach of occupants
Sufficient ambient light (>200 Lux)
Central location in the building
2.2
Identify a suitable installation location for the outdoor unit. Key attributes:
South facing with direct sunlight
Available space on (a.) exhaust vent / permanent pipe, (b.) RTU, or (c.) masonry
As clear as possible line of sight from the indoor unit to the outdoor unit (30-50’)
Do not install the outdoor unit on a gas pipe
Do not install the outdoor unit in a shaded area
