Never operate the charger on a
surface that will burn easily (for
example, paper, textiles etc) or in a
flammable environment.
There is a
risk of fire occurring as a result of the
heat generated during the charging

incorrect use, vapours may come

Ensure plenty of
fresh air and, if you have any

7 – Charging battery
CAUTION! This cordless
screwdriver AS18VM may
only be charged using the charger
XR-DC240400A. The charger may
only be operated with a power supply
that has an alternating current of
220–240 V and a frequency of
50/60 Hz. Any use of any other
charger or the charger XR-
DC240400A connected to a power
supply other than the one listed may
lead to personal injury and damages.
The rechargeable battery is not fully
charged on leaving the factory. Charge
the rechargeable battery before first
use.
Withdraw rechargeable battery (3) from
the storage battery drill screwdriver
(Fig. 2).
Connect the charging plug (7) of the
power supply (6) to the charge station (8)
(Figure 3). Connect the power supply to a
power socket (220-240V~).
The red control lamp will light up as
soon as contact is made to the power
supply. Put the empty battery into the
charger, make sure the polarity (+/–) is
correct. The green control lamp will light
up when electrical contact is made.
IMPORTANT! If a recently used
up battery is inserted and the
green control lamp does not light
immediately, remove the battery and
start the charging process again a
few minutes later.
