SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read these instructions carefully before use
Save these Operating Instructions for future reference.
This generator must not be used indoors or in enclosed areas. Risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Use the generator outdoors at a safe distance from windows, doors and vents.
Wear ear protection when working around the generator.
Electric shock
Before the generator is started, it must be earthed using a ground spike.
The generator must never be exposed to water or moisture during use or storage.
Never touch the engine ignition cable.
Do not touch the generator with damp hands.
Petrol and oil
Fill with oil before first use.
Shut off the engine and let it cool before filling.
Fill up with fuel outdoors.
Only use unleaded petrol.
Smoking is forbidden while filling with fuel.
Only refuel where there are no open flames, sparks or embers.
Make sure no water or dirt enters the fuel tank when refuelling.
If you get petrol on you, remove splashed clothes and wash your skin with soap and water.
If you inhale petrol fumes, make sure you get fresh air and rest under observation.
Wipe off any spilled fuel before starting the machine.
If you get petrol in your mouth, do not swallow. Rinse with lots of water. Never try to vomit if you
have swallowed petrol! Seek medical attention.
If you get petrol in your eyes, rinse with water for several minutes.
The generator must always stand upright during use and transport. Petrol may leak out if the
generator tips over.
The speed of the engine must never be changed.
Check that the oil level in the engine is between the max. and min. marks on the dipstick before
starting the engine.
The muffler and engine become very hot
Never touch the muffler or exhaust pipe during or after use. Risk of serious burns due to the
intense heat.
Never place the generator where it will be in the way or where there is a risk that people, children
or animals may come into contact with the generator.
Do not place the generator close to easily combustible materials.
Never place the generator less than 1 metre from buildings and other objects. The engine requires
good ventilation.
Never use the generator if it is dusty or dirty.
Connections
Check that the rated voltage of appliances corresponds to the generator’s voltage before
connecting them.
Check that connection cables are always intact.
Never use damaged power cords.
The generator must not be used if it is damaged.
Never touch moving parts.
TVs, electronic equipment, etc. can be damaged if they are connected to the generator when it is
started up.
The generator must not be connected to a wall socket in the home.
Never connect the generator to the mains electricity grid.
The total power requirements of all appliances connected must never exceed 900 W.
Service and repair work must only be performed by an authorised service technician.
