SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the operating instructions carefully before use
Save these instructions for future reference.
General safety information
• Failure to follow all instructions and safety information may result in electric shock, fire and/
or serious injury.
• Read all the operating instructions before using the tool, and ensure you follow all safety information.
• The term ’power tool’ in the safety information below refers to your mains-operated (corded) power
tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
1) Work area
A. Keep the work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
B. Do not operate power tools in explosive environments, for example in the presence
of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which can ignite dust or fumes.
C. Keep children and bystanders at a safe distance while operating a power tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control of the tool.
2) Electrical safety
A. The power tool plug must fit the power outlet. Never modify the plug in any way.
B. Never use an adapter together with earthed (grounded) power tools.
Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electrocution.
C. Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is
an increased risk of electrocution if your body is earthed or grounded.
D. Do not expose power tools to rain or moisture. Water entering a power tool will increase
the risk of electrocution.
E. Do not abuse the power cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.
Ensure that the power cord is protected from heat and that it does not come into contact with oil,
sharp edges or the tool’s moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk
of electrocution.
F. When operating the power tool outdoors, only use an extension cord approved for outdoor use.
Using a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electrocution.
G. If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a power supply that is protected
with a residual current device (RCD). Using an RCD reduces the risk of electrocution.
3) Personal safety
A. Be careful. Always be careful and use common sense when working with power tools.
B. Never use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
C. Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment tailored to the
conditions, such as dust masks, non-skid safety shoes, hard hats and hearing protection conditions,
will reduce the risk of personal injuries.
