IF ERRORS OCCUR

If errors occur, check first whether you can correct the problem yourself.
The following overview may help you.

Never try to repair the unit yourself. Contact our service centre or
other qualified personnel if a repair is necessary.

MALFUNCTION

POSSIBLE CAUSE/ACTION

GENERAL

No stand-by display

Check the mains connection: Is the plug firmly inserted in the mains socket?

No functions

Pull out the plug and insert it again into the mains.
If the unit has been affected by a storm, static charging or another exter-
nal factor, try the following:
Press

STANDBY

on the unit. Then pull out the mains cable and plug it

back in.

The disk does not play although

PLAY

 has been pressed, or stops

again immediately

Is the disk inserted with the label upwards?

Check whether the disk has been damaged by inserting another disk. If
the disk is dirty clean it carefully, wiping it from the centre to the edge
with a soft, dry cloth.
DVD: Does the DVD have the correct regional code (2)?
Condensation has formed: give the unit one to two hours to dry off.

The unit does not respond to the
remote control

Check whether the batteries need changing and have been inserted cor-
rectly? Remove any barriers between the infrared sender, the remote
control and the unit's sensor.
Are you possibly too far away from the unit (over 7 m)?

No picture

Are the cable connections between the DVD and television correct and
unbroken?
Is the television switched on?
Have you selected the video channel on the television?
Have you selected the correct video format (

V-MODE

 button)?

Have you selected the correct video output on the DVD player?

Very colour cast image

An incorrect video format has been selected. Use the V-MODE button to
change to the appropriate video format (refer to “Television standards”,
P. 14).

Distorted image

Check whether the DVD is dirty and if necessary clean it carefully, wiping
it from the centre to the edge with a soft, dry cloth. Small-scale image dis-
tortion is not a mal-function.
