12.1. Battery Mode
Batteries store electrical energy in their cells and then release it again as
required. Please charge and discharge the new battery completely two
or three times consecutively to ensure that it reaches its optimum
performance!
12.1.1. Shipping Mode
The notebook is in secure transport mode after being unpacked; this prevents
accidental switching on and discharging the battery.

Before switching on for the first time, you must connect the AC adapter and wait
around 8 seconds before activating the on/off switch.
12.1.2. Inserting the Battery

Insert the battery by sliding it into the compartment until it clicks into place. Be
sure to fasten the battery compartment to prevent the battery falling out.
12.1.3. Removing the Battery

Ensure that the notebook is switched off and that it is not connected to a power
outlet.

Turn the notebook upside down

Unlock the battery by pushing the lock outwards into the
position.

Hold the lock in the open position and remove the battery.

Damaged or dirty contacts on the battery and
notebook can result in faults.

When storing the battery and when using the
notebook, make sure that the contacts on the
battery and the notebook do not become dirty or
damaged.

Loss of data!
A sudden power failure may result in the loss of data.

Do not remove the battery while the notebook is
switched on or data may be lost.
