13. Positioning of patient
CAUTION
Risk of injury
Risk of crushing due to moving parts. Familiarise yourself with the operation before use. Risk of injury from
protruding parts.
CAUTION
Patient hazard - monitor patient position.
To avoid injuries, the position of the patient on the medifa 5000 must be monitored permanently.
1.
Determine the brake(s) of the medifa 5000, if not already done.
2.
Cover medifa 5000 with sterile tissues.
3.
Prepare the medifa 5000 for patient positioning by attaching the necessary accessories.
WARNING
Danger to the patient due to improper fastening!
•
Check that all accessories are securely attached to the medifa 5000 before each use! The elements may
move independently or slip out of place.
•
Check fastening elements for secure fit!

Incorrect loading can cause plate segments to break off the medifa 5000 or the medifa 5000 can tip over.
The ascending or descending may only be carried out in the area of the lifting column via the seat plate!

Do not step over the back plate or coupled plate segments when on or off the medifa 5000.
Sequence for setting the desired patient position:
1.
First, determine the desired working height.
2.
Then select the desired patient position.
3.
Lift the patient into the desired support position on medifa 5000; do not move over the padding. During each
change of position, lift the respective body parts of the patient. Any folds must be eliminated.
4.
Secure the patient before adjustment and actively support the patient during the adjustment.
