RS232 Protocol

7.3.1

Overview

The MAS Pro ASCII control protocol is a client/server protocol. Requests are always initiated by the

client and the server must reply to the client requests. There’s no concept of ‘event’ messages

which would be sent by the server without a request.

The underlying transport protocol is ASCII over a serial link (RS232) although the protocol itself is
independent of the physical transport protocol.
