Checking the brakes
Parking brake / magnetic brake: This test must be carried out
on a flat surface with at least one metre of free space around
the wheelchair.

Start the MC Concept and slowly move the joystick forward. There
is a clicking sound. (The wheelchair may start to move in this
setting).
Š
Immediately release the joystick and listen for the clicking sound,
which should occur within one second.
Repeat in all directions.
Problem Cause Solution
The MC Concept has too
long braking distance.
Deceleration can be set
to the wrong value in the
programming.
The magnetic brake can
be worn.
Change the value in the
program.
Replace the magnetic
brake (see section
Replacing the magnetic
brake).
There is no brakes at all. Deceleration can be set
to the wrong value in the
programming.
No voltage to magnetic
brake (no click sound in
the joystick).
Magnetic brake is very
worn.
Change the value in the
program.
Repear the power supply
for the magnetic brake.
Replace magnetic brake
(see section Replacement
of magnetic brake).
The vehicle must meet the following braking distances.
Maximum, horizontal stop distance - ISO 7176-6
