Introduction

Designed as a high performance
lightweight attack aircraft, it
mounts two 20-mm guns
internally, carries a variety of
external stores, and is capable
of operating either from a
carrier of from a shore base.

The Navy Model A-4E
Skyhawk is a
single-place
monoplane with a
modiﬁed
delta-planform wing
manufactured by the
McDonnell Douglas
Aircraft Company,
Aircraft Division, Long
Beach, California. It is
powered by a P&W
J52-P-6A gas turbine
engine producing a
sea-level static thrust
rating of 8500 pounds.
