H. PREPARATION FOR OPERATION/START-UP
The following items
should be
checked before attempting to operate the dryer:
1. Read
ALL
“
CAUTION
,” “
WARNING
,” and “
DIRECTION
” labels attached to the dryer.
2. Check incoming supply voltage to be sure that it is the same as indicated on the dryer data label affixed to
the upper left side panel area behind the top control (access) door. In the case of 208 VAC or 240 VAC,
the supply voltage
must match
the electric service specifications of the data
exactly
.
3.
GAS MODELS
- Check to assure that the dryer is connected to the type of heat/gas indicated on the
dryer data label.
4.
GAS MODELS
- The sail switch damper assembly was installed and adjusted at the factory prior to
shipping. However, each sail switch adjustment
must be
checked to assure that this important safety
control is functioning. (Refer to sail switch adjustment on
page 31
.)
5. Check bolts, nuts, screws, terminals, and fittings for tightness and security.
6.
GAS MODELS
- Be sure that
ALL
gas shutoff valves are in the open position.
7. Check
ALL
back guard panels and service box covers have been replaced.
8. Check the lint drawer to assure that it is closed and secured in place.
9. Rotate the basket (tumbler/drum) by hand to be sure it moves freely.
10. Check basket (tumbler) bearing setscrews to insure that they are
ALL
tight.
11. Check vent is connected to the dryer and is exhausted to the outdoors.
12. There
should be
a source of fresh air entering the room. This source
should not be
near where the
dryers exhaust to the outside.
