Voice Control System – Front Cabin
Telephone operation
The Voice Control phone book:
gives you the capability to save
phone numbers and associate a name
with a phone number in the phone
book
contains all entries
of the internal memory of the mo-
bile phone (TDMA, CDMA and
GSM mobile phone), entries are
marked with symbols
of the SIM card (GSM mobile
phone)
You can save up to 80 speaker-depen-
dent voice entries in the Voice Control
phone book.
Using these entries, you can dial a phone
number saved in the phone book.
“Save name”
Use the command “Save name” to create
a new entry in your phone book. After
using the command, the system will
prompt you to enter a phone number.
Digits from “Zero” to “Nine” can be en-
tered (
page 167).
Speak the telephone number
as a continuous string
or, with longer phone numbers (more
than five digits),
in form of digit blocks (three to five
digits). After each digit block (sepa-
rate the digit blocks by using an ap-
prox. 0.5 second pause), the Voice
Control System repeats the recog-
nized digits and waits until you con-
tinue speaking. After the command
“Save”, you will be prompted to en-
ter the name twice (maximum up to
four times).

Before your journey, please familiarize
yourself with the phone book functions.
Only use the Voice Control System when
road and traffic conditions permit you to
do so. Otherwise you could be involved in
an accident in which you or others could
be injured.
Phone book commands

The Voice Control System may recog-
nize names even if not saved in your
voice. For optimum call-up perfor-
mance, however, you yourself should
speak and save the names you intend
to use.
