2. Place Individual into Transfer Chair:
a. Push the Transporter to the resident and position
for a normal wheel chair transfer.
b. LOCK the brakes by stepping down on the LOCK-
ARM TAB located on the back of the rear casters.
Failure to lock the caster brakes before the
resident is transferred into the Transporter
could result in injury to the operator or
resident.
c. Raise the ARM REST out of the resident’s way
until properly positioned.
CAUTION:
The ARM REST is only to be used for
guiding and resident restraint; it is NOT to be used for
LOAD-BEARING.
d. Transfer the patient on to the Transporter using
proper nursing transfer techniques.
Warning: The Chair must be in a Full Upright
position during all transfers to and from the
Integrity Tub.
3. Secure The Individual:
Place the SECURITY BELTS; one across the upper
body and one across the lower body. Secure all
belts to the proper attaching knobs on the back
of the Transporter. Make sure the resident’s
feet are slightly elevated above the floor when
transporting. Tilt In Space Transporter might
have to tilt back slightly. (
