USE AND MAINTENANCE
ENGLISH
46 - EN
4.5 TRANSPORT METHOD
During transport and whenever lifting is required,
the lifting unit of the tractor should be regulated so that the
machine is raised about 35 cm from the ground (
fi
g.13
).
4.6 ADJUSTMENT OF
WORKING HEIGHT
For a correct regulation of the working height, it is neces-
sary to:
- Gradually lower the machine completely down to the
ground, using the hoister (tractor switched off and parking
brake pulled on).
- Regulate the working height.
For a correct adjustment, the blades must be ca. 2 - 3
cm from the surface of the ground.
4.7 BLADES
The knives with which the machine is equipped are made of
high quality steel and the stress-relieving heat treatments to
which they are subjected ensure high tenacity and notable
resistance to wear.
The dimensions and weights are closely monitored. The rotor
will not need to be dynamically balanced again if the knives
are partially or completely replaced.
Thanks to its versatility, this machine can be equipped with
knives of different shapes and sizes.
Club
type 20
can be used for grass, shrubs and pruning
remains (
fi
g.14
), or club
type 18
for universal use, depend-
ing on the job in hand (
fi
g.15
).
Inspection of wear on knives and
fi
xing pins
DANGER
The knives must always be checked before the machine
is used. Moreover, the knives must also be systemati-
cally checked whenever they strike against some ob-
stacle during work.
- The quality of the cut products, the reliability of the machine
and your safety depend on how carefully these compo-
nents are checked.
- The knives must be replaced in the following cases:
Damaged knives
Impact could twist or split the blades with the following ef-
fects:
- Impaired cutting quality.
- Increased vibrations causing the mechanical parts of the
machine to break.
- Partial or total breakage of the knives with the risk of parts
of the knives being thrown up.
Worn knives
- The diameter of
fi
xing hole «F» must not be ovalized more
than 2 mm in relation to the original diameter (
fi
g.18
).
- Length «L» of the knives must not be allowed to become
more than 15 mm shorter than the original length (
fi
g.18
).
The pins must be replaced if:
- The thread of
fi
xing screw «S» is damaged.
- Wear «T» on pin exceeds 2 mm (
fi
g.18
).
4.8 REPLACING BLADES
Periodically check the knives and their
fi
xing components
for wear.
Immediately replace all worn and/or damaged parts with the
Manufacturer’s genuine spares.
Proceed in the following way to replace worn or broken
knives:
- Park the machine and tractor on
fl
at ground.
- Make sure that all turning components have come to a
stop.
- Detach the driveline from the machine and tractor.
- Using the tractor’s power lift, raise the machine as high
as it will go.
- Position bearing stands under the machine, on both sides.
- Carefully lower the machine on to the supports.
