Circuit Diagram
Refer to “Fuel Pump Control System Circuit Diagram: Petrol Model” in Section 1G in related manual mentioned in the
Foreword of this manual.
Diagnostic Information and Procedures
Power Balance Test

CAUTION
!
Never increase engine speed higher than
idling speed when power balance test has
been performed. It could damage the engine.
NOTE
For identification of each cylinder, refer to
“Cylinder Identification Description”: in
Section .
Using SUZUKI Scan Tool
1) Place gear shift lever in “Neutral” and apply parking
brake.
2) Connect scan tool to DLC (1) with ignition switch
turned OFF.
Special tool
(A): SUZUKI scan tool (SUZUKI-SDT)
3) Clear DTC. )
4) For checking petrol system, select “Petrol MODE”
with selector switch.
For checking LPG system, select “Forced LPG
MODE” with selector switch.
5) Start engine and warm up to normal operating
temperature.
6) Using SUZUKI scan tool, select “Fuel Injector” in
“Active Test” and turn off each fuel injector.
7) With each fuel injector turned off, confirm that engine
speed falls lower than specified idle speed.
8) If rates of engine speed decrease are not in scale,
check following items.
• Fuel injector circuit
)
• Petrol fuel injector )
• LPG fuel injector )
• Spark plug
)
• Ignition coil circuit )
• Ignition coil )
• Engine compression )
Not Using SUZUKI Scan Tool
1) Place gear shift lever in “Neutral” and apply parking
brake.
2) Start engine and warm up to normal operating
temperature.
3) Remove air cleaner assembly. )
4) For checking petrol system, select “Petrol MODE”
with selector switch.
For checking LPG system, select “Forced LPG
MODE” with selector switch.
5) For checking petrol system, disconnect petrol fuel
injector connector (1) for cylinder No.1.
For checking LPG system, disconnect LPG fuel
injector connector (2) for cylinder No.1.
6) Check that engine speed decreases from specified
idle speed.
7) Repeat Step 5) and Step 6) for all cylinders, compare
rates of engine speed decrease.
8) If rates of engine speed decrease are not in scale,
check the following items.
• Fuel injector circuit
)
• Petrol fuel injector )
• LPG fuel injector )
• Spark plug )
• Ignition coil circuit
)
• Ignition coil )
• Engine compression )
9) Clear DTC. )
