cannot be read.
• The format of the USB memory device does not match this unit or
the USB memory device is not compatible.
Data stored in a
USB memory device
cannot be displayed
(read).
• Has the unit initialized the USB memory device with applicable
formats? (FAT 16/FAT 32)
• Are you using a USB hub? If so, directly connect the USB memory
device to a USB port on the front panel of the unit.
• Are you using a USB extension cable? If so, directly connect the
USB memory device to the USB port on the front panel of the unit.
• Are the USB memory device contents applicable to this unit? Use
the “Files” menu to confirm whether the contents are applicable
to the unit.
• When a USB memory device of 192 MB or less is formatted with
FAT 32, this unit may not be able to read it. If that is the case,
format it with FAT 16.
• This unit does not support a USB memory device containing
encrypted data.

The USB memory
device is not
recognized.
• Some USB memory devices cannot be operated by the power
supplied from this unit. The unit supplies 5 V/1 A to a USB memory
device. Use a USB memory device that is compatible with the
specifications of this unit.
• Check if the USB memory device is firmly connected to the USB
port.

Files that begin with
“.” cannot be played.
• When content created by Mac OS X is copied into a USB memory
device, all contents as well as hidden files are copied. Although
the extension of this file is the same as the extension of the
content, it is actually not the content. Delete this file using another
OS such as Windows.

• Does the USB memory device have more than 1 GB of available
space?
• Has the USB memory device been initialized by the unit?
• Was the USB memory device inserted while the power of the unit
was on? (Insert the USB memory device while the unit is in the
standby status.)

read.
• The pickup lens may be dirty. Before requesting servicing, try
cleaning the laser pickup with a commercially available lens
cleaner. (Do not use a cleaner with a brush because it may
damage the lens.)

A disc cannot be
played back.
• The finalizing procedure after recording has not been performed
correctly. Finalize a disc properly.

Cannot connect to
the network.
• The LAN cable is not connected. Correct the network connections.
• The IP address is incorrect. Correct the network settings.
• The connection has been blocked by the firewall. Allow
communication with the unit.

Can not find the
server.
• The server is not running. Start the server.
• The server has not authenticated the unit. Authenticate the unit
on the server side.
• The unit does not recognize the server. Obtain the server list
again.
The media player
does not respond.
• There is a large number of files in the list and processing takes
time. Wait until the process finishes.
• Multiple servers are starting or updating information. Wait until
the process finishes.
• The media player no longer responds to operations. Press DLNA
Search on the media player menu.

Cannot obtain the
file list.
• The server is creating the file list. It may take some time for the
server to create the file list. If that is the case, wait until the list
creation has finished.
• The number of files that can be registered by the server has been
exceeded. Limit the number of files formats to the range that
can be registered by the server. For details, see the server’s user
guide.
• Characters that are not supported by the server are used in areas
such as the file name. Limit the number of files formats to the
range that can be registered by the server. For details, see the
server’s user guide.
