6. Installation and connection
Î
Only install and operate the motor under the operating pa-
rameters and conditions described in Chapter 4, Technical da-
ta, and Section 2.3, Use in hazardous areas.
Î
Observe the safety precautions (see Chapter 3).
6.1. Installation
Î
Before installation, store the motor at the installation location
for 3 hours to bring it up to room temperature.
WARNING
Danger of explosion from insufficient cooling
Î
Install the motor so that the motor fan can intake
sufficient cooling air.
Î
Ensure sufficient ventilation and heat dissipation
around the motor.
Î
Make sure that the installation location is dry and the motor is
protected against rain, splash, hose and drip water.
Î
Protect the motor from dust.
Î
Protect the motor from vibrations and jolts.
6.2. Electrical connection
DANGER
Extreme danger from electrical shock!
Î
Only have the motor connected by an authorized
specialist.
Î
Only have the motor connected when the power
supply is disconnected.
Î
The customary national and international regulations on the
set-up of electrical systems in potentially explosive atmos-
pheres must be observed.
Î
The motor may only be connected to the electrical supply, if it
is certain that it can be safely operated in the potentially explo-
sive atmosphere that is present.
Î
The general safety and commissioning notes apply to the
electrical wiring.
Î
Connection of the motor to the electrical supply must be car-
ried out by a person qualified to do so, who is authorized to
connect electrical equipment in hazardous environments.
Î
Area B per IEC 34-1 (voltage
±
10%, fre3%/-5%)
must be maintained so that the temperature is kept within the
permissible limits. Exceptions are permitted only if they are in-
dicated on the motor output plate.
Î
Only electrical equipment that is absolutely necessary for
operating the motor should be located in the hazardous area.
Î
The motor is to be protected against excessive heating in
compliance with EN 60079-14 by means of a current-
Cooling air supply
