Problem
Possible cause
Suggested remedy
Light does not
switch on when
there is movement
in the detection
area.
No mains voltage.
Check all the connection, fuses
and switches.
Bulb(s) faulty or missing.
Check. Replace.
Nearby lighting is too bright.
Relocate the unit or turn the
LUX knob toward ( ).
Controls are set incorrectly.
Check control knob.
Light switches on
for no apparent rea-
son (false trigger).
Heat sources such as A/C units,
vents, heating fans, barbecues,
other outside lighting, moving
cars etc. are activating the sen-
sor.
Redirect sensor head away
from these sources.
Wild animals e.g. birds or do-
mestic animals.
Redirecting sensor head may
help.
Interference from on/off switch-
ing of electrical fans or lights
on the same circuit as your
light. (This problem does not
always occur but a faulty switch
or noisy fluorescent light may
cause the security floodlight to
switch on.)
Should the false triggering be-
come troublesome, consider:
(a) replacing a faulty switch.
(b) replacing a noisy fluores-
cent tube and/or starters.
(c) connecting the light to a
separate circuit (in most cases
where one or more of the
above suggestions have been
carried out, false triggering has
been reduced).
Reflection from swimming pool,
or reflective surface.
Redirect sensor.
Light remains on.
Continuously false triggered.
Redirect sensor head may
help.
Time set is too long.
Reduce time.
Light switches on
during daylight
hours.
LUX control knob is set to day-
light position.
Turn the LUX control knob to
desired light level setting.
When setting con-
trols in daylight the
detection distance
becomes shorter.
Interference by sunlight.
Reset at night.
