9 Preparation for installation
Avoid transmission of vibrations to the duct
system. Use ELR ... flexible fixing cuffs and an
FUR ... mounting foot for this purpose.
Take distances for flexible fixing cuffs
(ELR ..) into account.
1. Lay a power cable to the installation location.
2. For free inlet, fit an SGR ... protective grille to
match the fan. Drill 3 holes (→ arrows) in the
upper part of the housing for the SGR protect-
ive grille and screw the protective grille in
place with 3 tapping screws (provided by the
customer).

3. If there is an existing duct system, cut the fol-
ded spiral-seams duct at the installation site.
10 Installation, electrical connec-
tion
10.1 Installation
Only mount the fan in locations with suffi-
cient load-bearing capacity. Mounting mater-
ial of the sufficient size should be provided by
the customer.
Degree of protection IP X4 is not fulfilled if
the ventilation duct on the outlet side points
directly upwards and no duct bend is fitted to
prevent the supply of moisture.
Leakage if not sealed tightly enough. Firmly
screw fan down with all screws. Fit suitable in-
sulation, sound-absorbing and installation ma-
terials.
1. Attach FUR ... mounting feet, matching the
fan, to the fan using the enclosed mounting
material → FUR mounting instructions.
2. Mount the fan unit on the wall, ceiling or
bracket using the FUR mounting foot. Make
sure that the terminal box is freely accessible.
3. Push the folded spiral-seams ducts, that
match the diameter of the connection sockets,
on the inlet and outlet side onto the two con-
nection sockets. If necessary, fit ELR flexible
fixing cuffs to the connection socket before-
hand.
4. On both sides of the fan, fasten the folded
spiral-seams ducts to the connection socket
with a flexible fixing cuff.
5. Fit suitable insulation, sound-absorbing and in-
stallation materials.
10.2 Electrical connection
Risk of damage to unit in the event of
short-circuits. Insulate any cable cores that are
not needed.
The fans are not approved for operation
with frequency converters, as standard. Fans
for frequency converters only available as spe-
cial version.

1. Remove the terminal box cover and take out
the accessory bag.
2. Insert the cable grommet into the terminal box.
3. Guide the power cable into the terminal box.
4. Pierce the cable grommet in a circular man-
ner. Pierce the cable grommet so that it can
tightly enclose the power cable.
Notice:
If the
cable grommet is not attached correctly, water
may penetrate the terminal box → danger of
short-circuits/damage to unit. If necessary,
seal the cable grommet on site.
5. Connect the mains to the terminal block ac-
serve the tightening torques.
