Drinking and Driving: Don’t go

together

Driving, anytime, anywhere, under the
influence of alcohol or drugs is dangerous
to you, to your family, the passengers and
to everyone else on the road. Alcohol or
drugs reduce your awareness and lead to
accidents.

Driving Long Distances

When you are driving over long distances,
follow these tips so that you have a safe
journey:
• Never drive more than 150 kms at a

time. Switch drivers even if you are not
tired.

• Lack of sleep or fatigue may impact

your ability to drive safely

• Exercise your eyes by shifting the focus

of your eyes to different parts of the
road.

• Use stimulating beverages such as

coffee or tea.

• Relax and stay calm.

Use of Seat Belts

• In the interest of safety to the driver

and passengers of all four wheelers,
wearing of seat belts at all times during
the driving is essential.

• Using a hand phone while driving

constitutes nuisance or danger to the
public and hence must be avoided.

• Do not remove the filler cap from the

radiator/degassing tank.

• Keep engine and surrounding area

clean and free from fuel and oil
leakages to avoid possible fire risk.

• Play some additional support with the

jack for adequate strength.

• Park the vehicle on a level and hard

ground when lifting vehicle.

• Ensure stopper is used to arrest the

movement of the vehicle.

• Slow down the vehicle during taking a

turn and shifting the gears.

• Always keep the wind screen clean in

order to havbe a clear visibility.

• Avoid applying brakes violently in

slippery roads.

• When the brakes are wet apply brakes

slightly in a slow speed till brake
performance becomes normal.
