OPERATING ADVICE
To ensure the highest quality musical reproduction we ask you read, follow and understand
these instructions. Adherence will ensure continuance of the audio quality that your retailer
demonstrated, and help ensure the optimum longevity of your equipment.
Connect the supplied AC cable to the amplifier, thence to a suitable AC supply. This product must be grounded. Do not
use with an extension cord or other device to by-pass grounding. Operate only on 120 Volts AC, 60 Hz.
Use your amplifier in well-ventilated areas, avoiding rain or moisture and ensure ventilation holes are not obstructed.
Avoid letting foreign objects enter your amplifier through these holes.
Do not modify this amplifier in any way. Do not remove, or tamper with, any parts of the equipment. Not only will this
invalidate your warranty, but dangerous voltages exist within, of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric
shock, even with power disconnected. There are no user serviceable parts. Refer all servicing to qualified service
personnel.
Switch off power to the equipment and allow capacitors to discharge (
§
) before inserting, adjusting or removing any
connecting cables.
Before switching on the amplifier, or switching input selector, it is advisable to turn the volume control to the minimum
position (fully counter clockwise), to minimize power surges.
For stereo amplification connect a suitable loudspeaker load to the terminals (RED - Speaker Positive, BLACK -
Speaker Negative) 6-16 ohms acceptable, nominal load 8 ohms.
This unit is intended to drive one pair of stereo
speakers.
Use of more will likely overload your amplifier and repairs will be at your cost, outside the scope of your
warranty.
The On L.E.D. should illuminate when the amplifier is switched on. If this does not occur, please:
a) Check AC cable still fully connected.
b) Check amplifier fuse within fuse holder mounted on rear panel still intact.
c) Check with your dealer.
At switch on, fuses can blow due to the current surge. The stated fuses must be fitted to safeguard the equipment.
If in doubt, check with your Magnum dealer.
If your Magnum should inexplicably cease operating it may have temporarily shut itself off to avoid damage from
overheating. Switch off and allow cooling for an hour or so then turn on again. If this problem re-occurs, as always,
check with your dealer.
If L.E.D. is alight, but amplifier does not appear to work, please check that all input/output leads are connected
securely. If reconnection should be required, ensure that power is completely removed from circuit (
§
). Otherwise,
check with your Magnum dealer.
If this amplifier will be unused for an extended period of time, unplug it from the wall.
This amplifier’s original packing will be useful for any future transportation.
Ensure it is retained.
