Emergency Override Key
If you forget your code or the key pad is not
working correctly, use the emergency override
key to open the door.
Secure the Safe
NOTE:
The safe must be secured to the
floor. Use the hardware provided or consult
your hardware retailer for fastening hardware
for your particular mounting surface.
Hardware is Provided to Secure your Safe
to a Wood Floor.
1. Place the safe in the desired location.
2. Remove the plastic caps from the
bottom of the safe.
3. Use a drill bit that is less than the
diameter of the bolt hardware.
4. Drill pilot holes through the fire insulation
and into the floor.
Important:
The fasteners you are using
must completely fill the hole you drill into
the insulation (Fig.1). You must use the
fasteners after you drill the hole. Failure
to do so will void the fire rating.
5. Secure the safe with the fasteners
provided (Fig. 2).
Note:
The process above is only for a
wood floor. If you are drilling into a
different floor type, you will need to purchase
the correct hardware from your local store.
Note:
Always try replacing the battery first
before using the key.
1. Remove the key pad and on the right side of
the plastic disk there is a key hole.
2. Insert key and turn to override the lock. Turn
the handle to open the door.
3. Once the door is open, remove key and
replace key pad.
4. Reset your personal code by following the
steps in the section
Change Factory Preset
Code to your Personal Code.
To lock the safe, close the door and rotate
handle counter clockwise until it stops. If the
handle is not turned until it stops, the locking
mechanism will not lock.
Note:
Because the locking mechanism is
deactivated for approximately 3 to 6 seconds
after the combination is entered, wait a
minimum of 6 seconds from the time the
combination is entered to lock the safe.
Warning:
Make sure the emergency key is
NOT
stored in the safe.
Lock the Safe
The safe must be mounted to the floor. For
optimal safety, the safe should be installed
adjacent to the side wall with minimal space
on either side of the safe in an isolated dry
and secure area.
The safe should be flat against the wall and floor.
Remove the base if necessary.
CHILDREN SHOULD NOT PLAY
WITH OR AROUND THE SAFE AT
ANY TIME.
