STEP 7
SIGNAL (SGNL)
–
Signal refers to the strength of the
signal being received from the surface level of the material
being measured. With
SGNL
displayed, press
to dis-
play the signal strength. There is no time limitation in this
step. The representation of the signal strength is displayed
in a value from 0–100% in 5% steps. Ideally the reading
should be between 40–95%. If the readings are less than
25%, improper alignment or poor installation procedures
may be the cause. Contact factory for assistance. If the
reading is within the acceptable range, press any key to
exit
SGNL
and press the
key to continue to
STEP 8
–
LOOP (LOOP)
.
STEP 8
LOOP (LOOP
) –
Loop is a continuous display of the
actual loop output mA current. The display is limited to
3 characters and a decimal point. The 350/351 uses a D/A
converter with 8 bit resolution, and divides the operating
distance (
SPAN
in Height Mode,
RANGE – SPAN
in
Distance Mode) into 256 equal steps, each corresponding
to a step change in current. Therefore the smallest step
change in current is (20 – 4)/256 = 0.0625 mA. (Refer to
Height/Distance Selection for more information on resolu-
tion of output or current). With
LOOP
displayed, press
to display the actual loop value. Any key will exit
LOOP
and press the
key to continue to
STEP 9
–
RUN (RUN?)
.
STEP 9
RUN (RUN?)
– This is the end of the
GENERAL SET UP
PROCEDURES
and provides the operator the opportunity
to check previous settings before leaving the main menu.
Returning to the normal operating mode is accomplished
by pressing .
MAGNETROL INT’L....
will then be displayed, or the previous
chosen display (

, or
LOOP
) as described in
