10 Start-up and operation
10.1 Safety

General WARNING
Danger by inappropriate start-up and operation!
Inappropriate start-up and operation can cause
severe or lethal injuries.
– Commissioning and operation must be
performed by specialists or electronics
specialists.
– Always observe the radius of action of the
barrier arm.
– Prior to start of works ensure that all housing
covers are correctly mounted.
Wind forces over 10 Beaufort
WARNING
Risk of injury from breaking off barrier arms in
case of high wind speeds!
In case of wind speeds exceeding 10 Beaufort, the
barrier arm may break off from the wind load and
cause severe injuries.
Therefore observe in case of storm warnings above
10 Beaufort:
– Disassemble barrier arm or secure it with
suitable measures.
– Stop operating the barrier system.
Personal protective equipment The following must be worn during start-up:

Work clothes

Protective gloves

Safety shoes

Protective helmet.
