7.1 Channel
--- Outputs 7.1 channel decoded audio in this mode. The actual number of output channels depends on the
disc. For 6.1 channel content, its left/right rear surround channels will output the same rear surround
channel audio.
Test Tone
Test tone is a set of artificially created sounds used to test the speaker system and help identify wiring errors. The test tone is set to off by
default. Please note that these test tones are only effective for multi-channel analog audio output and are only suitable for channel
identification purposes. Considering the configuration of the speakers, we recommend using dedicated test tones from professional audio
calibration discs.
Speaker Settings
To set the size, distance and volume of each speaker, you can move the cursor to the speaker by pressing the LEFT/RIGHT arrow keys
and then press the ENTER key to open the speaker settings menu on the right side of the screen. In the speaker settings menu, use the
UP/DOWN arrow keys to select a parameter and then press to set the following speaker parameters:
džȒ
Size
: Set the bass filter control for each speaker
z
Large - All audio is transmitted to the corresponding speaker.
z
Small - All audio except for low frequencies is transmitted to the corresponding speaker. The purpose is to reduce distortion. If there
is a subwoofer, low frequencies will be redirected to the subwoofer, otherwise they will be discarded. The upper limit of low
frequencies must be set in the crossover in the settings menu (see page 37 for details).
z
Off - The corresponding speaker does not exist. The audio corresponding to the missing speaker will be redirected to other
speakers, and if it cannot be redirected, it will be discarded directly.
z
On (only applicable to subwoofers) - Indicates that a subwoofer is available.
Notes
z
The size configuration of the front, surround and rear surround speakers is done in pairs. If you need to change the size of one
speaker, the other one paired with it will also be automatically changed.
2.
Distance
: The speaker distance parameter setting can adjust the delay time of the corresponding channel. The delay function can
compensate for the audio transmission time difference caused by the speaker position.
3.
Channel Volume
: Set the volume of each channel. Since most A/V receivers have channel volume adjustment and speaker
sensitivity difference compensation functions, channel volume setting is usually not required. However, if your receiver does not
have this function (many receivers’ multi-channel analog inputs do not support it), you can adjust the channel volume through the
player. For the most accurate results, it is recommended that you use a calibration disc (such as “Digital Video Essentials HD
Basics”) and an SPL (sound pressure level) meter.
