Using the Browser
Using the browser you can access web sites as yelp (www.yelp.com),
CitySearch (www.citysearch.com) or Zagat (www.zagat.com) and
download points of interest to be used as a route destination, access
e-mail accounts (gmail.com, aol.com, yahoo.com, etc.), and view web
pages. The browser does have a few limitations:
• No flash support. (The browser will not be able to play .flv
videos (youtube, etc.).
• Does not support most plugins.
• Cannot perform downloads.
• When using e-mail, cannot open attachments.
When using e-mail, you can reply to an e-mail but it is not recommended
as the keyboard does not have a carriage return.
WARNING: If driving, do not use the browser nor the e-mail
capability of the Magellan RoadMate unless you are stopped in an
area designated for legal parking.
To use the web browser you must have a WiFi network connection (
see
Setting up WiFi
). The browser is accessed via the Main Menu by
tapping on the Browser icon.
Browser Settings.
From the Main Menu tap the Settings icon and
select the Browser button to access Browser Settings. Tap on Clear
Cache, Clear Cookies or Clear All History to clear the item or items.
Using javascript and accepting cookies can be turned on (checked) or
off by tapping on Javascript or Accept Cookies. When done, tap on the
back arrow in the lower left corner.
