1.4 Important Information
1.4.1 Network Security
The NTWB1 creates an open network with no password required to
connect to it. Do not connect a WiFi device (such as a pc) which has
sensitive information stored on it as anyone within close proximity could
potentially connect to the NTWB1 and access the connected device(s).
If it is necessary to connect a device with sensitive information stored on
it then seek professional advice on how to protect your device. As a
minimum, ensure all virus detection and firewall software is up to date
and operating.
If you are racing your competitors could potentially view your boat's
instrument data when in range of the NTWB1's WiFi signal due to the
open network. Please bear this in mind when racing!
1.4.2 Disclaimer
Use the NTWB1 entirely at your own risk. Madman Marine Pty Ltd
will not be held liable for any consequential loss, damage or injury in any
way connected with the use of the NTWB1 NMEA to WiFi Bridge.
Madman Marine Pty Ltd’s liability under any circumstances shall not be
greater than the original purchase price of the NTWB1.
