OPERATION
3.16.7 Cutterbar Deflector
Cutterbar de fl ectors attach to the cutterbar just below the conditioner rolls and provide improved feeding into the
conditioner rollers by preventing crop from feeding under the rolls when cutting heavy crops with long stems.
Cutterbar de
fl ectors may not be well-suited for are all environments, such as sandy conditions, and and are easily
removed or installed in the fi eld.
Removing Cutterbar Deflectors
DANGER
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected
start-up or fall of a raised machine, stop engine,
remove key, and engage header lift cylinder lock-out
valves before going under machine for any reason.
1. Raise mower conditioner fully, shut down tractor, and
remove key from ignition.
2. Close lift cylinder safety valves.
3. Clean debris from de fl ectors and de fl ector area.
IMPORTANT:
Do
NOT
remove plug (B).
4. Remove three bolts (C) securing de fl ector (A) to
cutterbar using an 8 mm hex key and a 16 mm socket
and remove de
fl ector.
5. Repeat for other de fl ector.
6. Store de fl ectors and hardware in a safe place.

Installing Cutterbar Deflectors
DANGER

remove key, and engage header lift cylinder lock-out
valves before going under machine for any reason.
1. Raise mower conditioner fully, shut down tractor, and
remove key from ignition.
2. Close lift cylinder safety valves.
3. Clean debris from ledge and the six mounting holes
along aft edge of cutterbar.
4. Position left de fl ector (A) (with cut-out for cutterbar
drain plug (B)) on top of ledge along the aft end of the
cutterbar, and align existing fasteners and cutterbar
plug with slots in de
fl ector (A).
5. Install three button hex head socket M10 bolts (C) with
locknuts in the holes with the heads facing down.
