Chapter 4:

Maintenance and Servicing

The following instructions provide information about routine servicing for the header. A parts catalog is located in a plastic
case at the right end of the header.

Log hours of operation and use the maintenance record provided (refer to

4.3.1 Maintenance Schedule/Record, page 93

) to

keep track of your scheduled maintenance.

4.1

Preparing Machine for Servicing

CAUTION

To avoid personal injury, perform the following procedures before servicing self-propelled disc header or opening drive
covers:

1.

Lower the header fully. If you need to perform service in the raised position, always engage safety props. For
instructions, refer to

3.3 Engaging and Disengaging Header Safety Props, page 24

2.

Shut down the engine and remove the key from the ignition.

3.

Engage park brake.

4.

Wait for all moving parts to stop.
